Today’s guest is Magdala Francillon, a lover of the art and science of wine making and creator of Waiter Can I Have. Magdala just returned to NYC after an enviable business trip to France where she spent some time frolicking through vineyards, enjoying amazing French food, discovering varietals, and learning more about the process of wine making.
Magdala truly loves both the art and science involved in the process of growing good wine. Her goal is to educate people about wine making in order to help them broaden their palates, develop a true appreciation for wine, and be a bit more adventurous when choosing a bottle. These are the motivations behind her business Waiter Can I Have.
On this episode we chat about her recent trip to the Burgundy and Bordeaux regions of France, her love for the industry, wanting to represent for more Black women in the higher ranks of the industry, and her favorite regions and wines. She also shares the motivation behind and quest for a Level 5 WSET Certification and talks about her own goals to be a wine maker.
